The filmmaker Payal Kapadia created history at the Cannes Film Festival 2024 when she received the prestigious Grand Prix award for her drama "All We Imagine as Light."
Payal’s film got the second-most prestigious prize of the festival after the Palme d'Or on the last day of the 77th Cannes Film Festival.

'All We Imagine as Light' is an Indo-French collaboration that is co-produced by Petit Chaos from France and Chalk and Cheese Films from India.
Payal is known for her best work in the documentary "A Night of Knowing Nothing," which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival 2021
where she won the Golden Eye award. Her short film, Afternoon Clouds, was the only Indian film selected for the 70th Cannes Film Festival.
