There was firing at Salman’s house

Anuj Thapan was accused of providing weapons to the two attackers who carried out firing outside Salman Khan’s residence in Bandra, Mumbai on April 14. He was arrested by the crime branch of Mumbai Police. The officer said that there is a crime branch building in the police commissionerate Complex in South Mumbai and Thapan hanged himself in the toilet of the lock-up on the first floor by making a noose of a bed sheet.

Committed suicide by hanging

He said that the incident came to light at 1:00 p.m. when the crime branch officer found that Thapan was in the toilet for a long time. He said that when the door was broken, he was found hanging from a noose tied to the toilet Window. The officer said that Thapan was immediately taken to the government Gokuldas Tejpal Hospital where doctors declared him dead during treatment.

5 accused in the lockup

The officer said that at the time of the incident, there were five accused in the lockup. Two co-accused of Thapan in the firing were brought out of the lock for investigation. Thapan and Sonu Kumar Bishnoi were arrested by the crime branch team from Fazilka in Punjab on April 26. According to the police, both had supplied weapons to Sagar pal and Vicky Gupta, the attackers who opened fire outside Salman Khan residence.

The police said that both had come to Panvel near Mumbai on March 15 and supplied two country made pistols and 38 cartridges to Pal and Gupta. Thapan and Sonu’s village is in Punjab and close to the village of jailed Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Lawrence is currently imprisoned in Sabarmati jail in Ahmedabad and his younger brother Anmol Bishnoi is believed to be in the US or Canada. He has also been name in the case
