On Saturday, IPL 2024, a match between CSK and RCB Ruturaj Gaikwad played a bad inning. Glenn Maxwell got him on the very first ball for a golden duck of the second innings.
RCB squad 218 runs with the loss of 5 wickets in the first innings. In the run chase of 219 runs CSK could only score 191 runs with the loss of 7 wickets . Losing the match after losing the match Ruturaj Gaikwad stated that they could not win in Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Ruturaj Gaikward himself couldn’t perform well. He got out for a golden duck on the very first delivery of Glenn Maxwell of the second innings. He stated that Wicket was really good in Bangalore and it was really helpful for spinners. Spinners were getting good turns and grip on the wicket in Bangalore. He also stated that absence of Mateesha Pathirana and Mustafizur Rahman was a big factor in losing the match.
Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad is also disappointed by failing to make their place in the playoffs of IPL 2024. In the interview after the match he stated “ It was really good to get. It was really helpful for spinners because they were getting really good turns and good grips. I was feeling happy with the target of 219. When the players have injuries then it is really very difficult to balance the team. Winning and losing is a part of the game. I am really disappointed that we failed in making a place in the playoffs.”

Firstly CSK won the toss and chose to ball first. RCB set a target of 218 runs with the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. RCB captain Faf Duplessis scored 54 runs in 39 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes, and Virat Kohli scored 47 runs in 29 deliveries with 3 fours and 4 sixes. They both set a partnership of 78 runs. Rajat Patidar scored 41 runs in 23 balls and with 2 fours and 4 sixes and Cameron green scored 38 runs in 17 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes and made a 71 runs partnership for the third wicket. After that Dinesh Karthik took the charge and scored 14 runs in 6 balls with a 4 and a 6 and Glenn Maxwell scored 16 runs in 5 balls with 2 fours and a 6. And at last it took RCB to a total of 218 runs with the loss of 5 wickets.
In the second innings CSK had to chase 219 runs in 20 overs. But they failed to make it happen. But they could only score 191 runs with the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs and got defeated by 27 runs. CSK lost two wickets in the early overs on 19 with the loss of 2. Rabindra sports 61 runs in 37 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes, Ajinkya Rahane score 33 runs in 22 balls with 3 fours and a 6 and the both made a 66 runs partnership to remain the game but lastly they couldn’t chase the target of 219 at got defeated by 27 runs.
CSK Elimination from IPL 2024
Now RCB have secured 4th place with seven wins and 7 losses with 14 points and also qualified for the playoffs in the IPL 2024. On the other hand CSK was on the fourth spot with seven wins and 7 losses but due to the lower net run rate they lost their spot and got eliminated from IPL 2024.
