Celebs face blacklash on TikTok
Recently some fans took to TikTok to post videos about the celebrities who are still silent about the Gaza conflict. These fans have expressed their dismissal by asking the other fans to blacklash these celebrities.
Many eminent personalities were present in the list of these blacklashed celebrities including Zendaya, Andrew Scott, Keith Urban, Nicki Minaj, Taylor swift, Beyonce, Selena Gomez, Amy Schumer, Michael Rappaport, Ariana Grande, Debra Messing, etc.
The first post was added on TikTok by Mark.Beshae (@mark.beshae) who prepared a doc of the name of celebrities who have not spoken anything on the Gaza conflict, there are even those names who haven’t expressed enough about the strife like Zendaya who made only one post in October is also included in the list.
These names have been highlighted through a black background and a red cell next to it with the word ‘SILENT’. The video questioned the purpose of Met Gala condemning it and calling it real life Hunger Games. The tiktoker explained further that a ticket to the Met Gala costs $75,000 and the whole Met Gala costs around $550 million which remonstrates its claim being run for the charity purposes.

Question on Met Gala money
Some Tiktokers found this blacklash genuine and rhetorically questioned where did all the money go and where were the donations? Some pose questions to celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner who have millions of followers on social media and asking why don’t they speak about the world problems.
The grandiose Met Gala took place at the same time the Palestinians were forced out of their homes by Israeli soldiers at a 24 hour short notice, this fuelled the anger of the social activists and many fans around the world who believed that the media attention was wrongly biased towards the Met Gala and not the Palestinians who suffered agony at the hand of the Israeli soldiers who took control of the Egypt side border of the Gaza. Fans were shocked that instead of supporting the cause of the refugees, the high profile personalities of the world were engaged in their own jamboree.
Some fans connoted that bigger forces were at play as the short notice came at the same time as the event at New York ensued and the events juxtaposing each other seemed unreal.
A user commented that the world is not stable enough for people to accept the flaunting lifestyle and extravagant parties being held by the celebrities while people are being wiped out from the face of the world. The objective of this blacklash is to decrease the advertising revenue of the companies and mitigate the talk among the authorities to take action and bring peace to the Middle East.
