Indian music director and singer Amit Trivedi is famous for movies like Lootera, Kai Po Che, Udta Punjab, Dev D, and many more superhit films. Amit was not able to cast his vote in the Lok Sabha election’s fifth phase in India on May 20 and revealed the reason behind it on social media.

Amit Trivedi revealed what happened to him at the voting booth

Amit shared a video on his X platform (formerly known as Twitter) and wrote on it, “Voting is our constitutional right. Today I was denied that right, and I feel helpless.

Did this happen to anyone else? How, and why??”

He explained what happened to him in the voting booth. He said, “I went out of the house today to vote, and when I reached the booth, I showed the officer my receipt, in which the booth number was mentioned. As you guys can see, ‘Akramank; 1080’, and the officer put a cross on it and gave it to me.

I have my voter card and Aadhaar card in place, and he said to me that the 1080 number is not available and it is not my number, so I have to go back to where I received it and get fixed. After that, I went back, and there was a huge line, so I had to wait 30 minutes. After that, I reached the person and explained my situation, and he searched for another 30 minutes in his books and papers, and at last, he said, ‘Sorry, sir! You can’t vote.”

Due to my name not being on the list, I am not the only one who can’t cast a vote; there are 200–300 people who went back to their homes because of not having names on the voting list, according to the booth representative.
