Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan’s Debut film “Maharaj” releasing without any promotion. Junaid Khan is going to make his debut with the film Maharaj. Junaid Khan will be seen playing the lead role in Maharaj movie. Yash Raj Films is going to launch Junaid Khan on the big screen through this movie. Yash Raj has teased the promotion and trailer launch of this film or should we say the OTT platform chooses not to make noise on the grand debut of Junaid Khan.

Cast and crew of the film

The film “Maharaj” is directed by Malhotra P Siddharth. The cast of the film are Junaid Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat, Shalini Pandey, Sharvari, Resham Sahaani, Edward Sonnenblick, Mark Bennington, Sameer Pranjape.

Junaid Khan will be seen in the role of Fearless journalist in this film. Whereas Jaideep Ahlawat will play the role of religious leader Maharaj.

Reason for not doing promotion and trailer launch

If reports are to be believed then no trailer launch and promotional activity has been planned for Maharaj movie. And just like Aamir Khan and Junaid Khan has chosen not to give any media interviews either. And no holding of this film is available which can give any update to the people about it. The OTT platform has chosen to keep quiet media screening for the movie “Maharaj” featuring Junaid Khan.

The biggest reason behind this is that this film is very controversial. There is a lot of controversy over the portrayal of a Hindu religious leader in this film. The “Vishva Hindu Parishad” youth wing represented by Bajrang Dal has raised objections on the ground that it would paint the religious leader in a negative light which will hurt their feelings. However Maharaj makers did not consider it important to give any reaction to this letter. They would rather have chosen to avoid it.

The letter was sent to the Maharaj team before the movie’s release. In this letter a request was made for an early screening but the filmmakers did not consider it necessary to react to it. They are conscious that such actions may harm the movie.

An industry source gave the news and said that “ YRF and Netflix India don’t want to add fuel to the controversy so they have collectively decided on minimal promotion to avoid the negative publicity. The studio, using the same tactic it applied during “Pathan” when some religious groups threatened a boycott over using saffron costumes in a song. This no-promotion strategy might not generate the desired public traction, but it helps ensure the film’s release. The current priority is to release the film, as the makers believe its strong content will speak for itself once it’s out.
